Javier Montesol was born in Barcelona in 1952 and belongs to the generation that promoted the cultural transition in Spain derived from the change of dictatorial regime to a democratic country that took place in the mid-1970s.
He was the protagonist of the Underground Comic movement that began in the early 70s, being the founder of emblematic Spanish magazines such as Star and Cairo
In his beginnings as an artist he was perceived as a cultural agitator and throughout his career, having to go into exile to Ibiza in the year 74.
Interest in representing the culture and traditions of their country, fully relying on the validity of the Spanish Brand.
To date, Montesol's Works are present all over the world being exhibited in the famous "Prado Museum", "MNAC" in Barcelona and "El Museo Taurino de Las Ventas", also in prestigious Online Galleries such as Artsper, Saatchi and Artistic.
Finally, in the street galleries located in Paris and Barcelona, being well known among the specialized echelons of Europe and the United States.
